The concept is self-evident: a bar and grill in a former garage, and the building earns the premise rather than just claiming it. High ceilings, garage door front, concrete floor finished but not concealed. The space works because the bones are real.
I've been here enough times to have a position on the menu. The kitchen handles its category with confidence. I stay in the chicken and fish column by habit and both have been consistent across visits. The family I come here with orders more broadly and the consensus has never been qualified. The tap list runs local and regional appropriately. The crowd is mixed in the way a genuinely good neighborhood spot is mixed: nobody's getting a different version of the place than anyone else.
Five stars. Walburger's understands what it is and commits to it. That's harder than it looks.
