First impression was the smell of the place coming through the front door. For this part of central New York, Suburban Hardware Inc holds its own.

The menu was a half-page, which I read as a sign of confidence rather than limitation.

The dining room volume was controlled. Conversations at our table didn't require leaning in.

Worth the visit. The one gap didn't undercut the rest of it.
