Sackett's Table in Seneca Falls is exactly what Seneca Falls deserves to have: a restaurant and market on Bridge Street that operates with the care and sourcing that the Finger Lakes region surrounding it has earned. Five stars for a kitchen that respects its location.
The menu works from local and regional sourcing in a way that's evident without being performative. The produce comes from farms you can drive to in twenty minutes. The proteins reflect what the surrounding land and water produce. A restaurant in Seneca Falls positioned between the Cayuga Lake shoreline, Montezuma, and the Finger Lakes wine district has access to outstanding raw ingredients and Sackett's Table is using them.
Seneca Falls is worth knowing better than most people know it. The town has the Women's Rights National Historical Park, a main street that has held some of its character, and the bridge at the center is worth pausing on. Avicolli's Pizza is a couple hundred feet away if you need something more casual. But Sackett's Table is the sit-down version of the town done right.
