One star. Marcus Syracuse Cinema in Camillus is a large, modern multiplex that manages to make the act of watching a movie feel like a chore you've assigned yourself. I'm giving one star with a specific complaint and the complaint is that the sound system in the auditorium I was in was calibrated wrong — meaning loud in a way that produces ear fatigue rather than immersion, which is the worst version of loud — and the staff's response when I asked about it was indifference worn as professionalism.
Bad Axe Throwing is literally next door. Buffalo Wild Wings is right there. Both of those options earn better stars than this theater does. If you're in this part of Camillus and you want to spend two hours doing something, the axe throwing is a better call.
The building is fine. The screens are the right size. The concession pricing is the concession pricing. None of that is the problem. The problem is that the experience inside the auditorium didn't deliver on the basic promise of a movie theater, which is that you can hear what's happening correctly. One star.
