I stayed in this hotel for two nights. The primary reason for the low review is due to a general state of disrepair and lack of cleanliness. They have all the appropriate signs regarding health and cleaning but visually it was hard to believe. We arrived and entered our room to find no sheets or towels, rather than send us these materials they asked us to come back down ( carry all of our stuff) to get a new room. (Carry all of our stuff there too). Not ideal after a long drive. They stored garbage in the stairwell. The signage in the elevators suggests using the stairs. This is good thinking. But upon opening the stairwell door the heat and stench actually made me gag on my first night and second morning. As a frequent business traveler, this location would rate lower than my past 100 visits.
Two stars and I'm being accurate rather than charitable. The Extended Stay on Irwins Lane in Plymouth Meeting failed in the specific ways that a hotel cannot fail at: cleanliness and basic room readiness.
We arrived to find no sheets or towels in the room. The resolution they offered was to ask us to carry all of our luggage back out, back down to the desk, and move to a different room. No offer to bring the materials up. After a long drive with the family, that's the wrong read on what a guest needs.
The stairwell stored garbage. The elevator signage advised using the stairs. The stairwell smell made that an active choice with consequences.
The location is genuinely convenient to Plymouth Meeting Mall, Whole Foods, and the surrounding commercial corridor. The building is in a useful spot. The operation inside the building is not meeting the standards that make the location useful.
Two stars. The shell has potential. The execution is not there.
